The recent exposure of a fake liquor manufacturing unit operating openly along a national highway in Annamayya district has triggered serious questions about governance and law enforcement in Andhra Pradesh.
BCY Party President Bode Ramachandra Yadav has demanded that the High Court appoint a sitting judge to investigate the issue, alleging deep political involvement behind the liquor mafia.
In a strongly worded press statement, Yadav said, “The scale of this illegal operation proves that the mafia is being protected by powerful political figures. Only a sitting judge-led inquiry can reveal the truth.”
Political Protection Alleged
Yadav questioned how such large-scale production of fake liquor could continue for months without being noticed. “If a liquor racket operates beside a national highway, it’s impossible without administrative support,” he said.
He accused followers of a ruling alliance constituency in-charge of being directly involved, suggesting the existence of a wider criminal network.
Governments Change, Mafias Don’t
“The sad truth is — governments change, but mafias don’t,” Yadav said.
He recalled how the previous YSRCP government faced liquor scam allegations, and now the ruling alliance is accused of supporting fake liquor production.
“This is not governance; this is betrayal of the people,” he said.
Threat to Public Health
The BCY leader warned that fake liquor poses a deadly risk to human life. “If the government remains silent, we could see dozens of deaths. This is not politics — this is a matter of life and death,” he said.
Statewide Network
According to Yadav, the fake liquor operation is not confined to one district. “What surfaced in Annamayya is just the tip of the iceberg. Similar networks exist across the state,” he warned.
He urged both the state and central governments to initiate a comprehensive investigation under judicial supervision.
Call for Accountability
Yadav demanded that officials from the excise, police, and local administrations be held accountable for their inaction. “If such a racket runs under their noses, what does that say about our governance?” he questioned.
The fake liquor mafia issue is no longer a local scandal — it’s a test of the state government’s integrity. Bode Ramachandra Yadav’s demand for a sitting judge-led probe reflects a broader call for transparency, accountability, and justice.
If ignored, it risks eroding public trust and compromising safety across Andhra Pradesh.
