Residents of Pangidipally village, Tekumatla Mandal, Jayashankar Bhupalpally District, are facing an acute water crisis as borewells are pumping very little water due to drastically falling groundwater levels Not only Jayashankar Bhupalpally district , whole Telangana face with same problem. This alarming situation is severely impacting agriculture Crops and drinking water supply, and daily livelihoods.
Telangana farmers , residents report that borewells that once provided sufficient water are now yielding only a fraction of their usual capacity. With summer approaching, the situation is expected to worsen, putting additional pressure on the already strained water resources. Farmers are struggling to irrigate their crops, threatening yields, while drinking water sources are drying up, forcing residents to depend on alternative means. Livestock and domestic water needs remain unfulfilled, adding to the distress.
Residents urge authorities to take immediate action by implementing groundwater recharge projects, providing alternative water sources like tankers or new borewells, and promoting rainwater harvesting to improve groundwater levels and any action. If no urgent measures are taken, the crisis may escalate further, causing severe hardships for the entire Telangana villages.
